Professional Development Funding
At Aurora Waldorf School, we take great pride in our faculty. At its core, Waldorf education enables children to grow up feeling confident in themselves and their space in the world, so they can approach life with enthusiasm and openness and find beauty everywhere. Our teachers are engaged in bringing up the adults we need in our world, and they bring passion and enthusiasm to school every day.
Lifelong students themselves, AWS teachers regularly continue their studies in Waldorf education individually and as a faculty for professional development. Here is a sampling of professional development our faculty attended in recent years:
Alma Partners' anti-bias storytelling training
An Immersion in the World of Waldorf Kindergarten and Nursery Kindergarten
Bothmer Gymnastics & Games
Classroom Practices that Promote Equity and Inclusion
Cultivating Healthy Parent-Teacher Relationships: A Keystone for Healthy School Communities
Foundation Studies In Anthroposophy
Meaningful Math Play from the First Day
Restorative Practices
Spacial Dynamics Level I Training: 5th Grade Pentathlon, Archery, Fencing, Circus Arts, Tumbling, and Movement Philosophy
Turn Your Classroom into a Student-Centered Mathematical Playground
Waldorf Elementary Teacher Education
Donate to help our faculty continue their professional development. We have already received over $16,000 in funding requests for 2023-2024. We aim to raise at least $20,000 to help fund these costs for next year and beyond.
