Each year, we fund an improvement project that is implemented that fiscal year. Past projects have included the Early Childhood Playground split rail fence, the transverse climbing wall in the gym and the front entrance. These projects have added beauty and value to the campus and meet immediate needs of and dreams for the school.

For our 10th Annual Artisan Auction, we are focusing on the Auditorium, building on a recent generous restricted donation to the school and already completed project of new auditorium lights and audio-visual equipment. At Aurora Waldorf School, the auditorium is where the fruits of all the hard work that is being done in the classroom is showcased and shared. It is a community gathering space for festivals and celebrations. It holds our Rose Ceremonies and Graduations, our class plays and concerts. It is our most public space and the heart of our school.

This is a wonderful opportunity to create a space that expresses who we are and reflects our mission. We are one of the few Waldorf schools in North America lucky enough to have an auditorium. Our goal is to add beauty and functionality to the space through: painting, new curtains, new carpet, new seats, and backstage storage and organization. The full scope of the project will depend on the support we receive online and on November 16th during the excitement of the Live Auction. Those interested in shaping the final plans can serve on a committee through next spring to see the project through to completion.
